How’d you feel when you got the call to say you won? I was shocked, surprised & delighted. I’d got a missed call and returned it, when they told me I won, I couldn’t believe it, I’m not usually that lucky!! It was a great competition for the town and all the local shoppers.
Would you shop in Monaghan often? Yes, Monaghan would be my local shopping town, there is always great variety in the town, staff in all the stores are really nice, friendly and helpful. I find in most shops the staff are always happy to help you find what you’re looking for.
Do you know where you may have got your golden ticket? The Top Prize is fantastic is there anything you are looking forward to spending it on?
Yes, I filled out entries in three shops, Rocks Stationery, Vodafone and Wilsons Menswear. I’m looking forward to visiting some of the shops I haven’t been too before. There are so many great options and I can’t wait to pick up a new Christmas outfit and treat my family & friends to some nice surprises!

The Golden Ticket promotion was developed by the Monaghan Town Team retail group as a way to reward shoppers for shopping local. Initially the team sought to encourage 60 businesses to take part in the promotion and where delighted with 80 participants. The Golden Ticket Promotion could not happen without the enormous contribution from the Retail Committee who helped organise and drive the promotion over the past 8 weeks from developing the Golden Ticket Concept to delivering it on the ground. They work on a voluntary basis and give up their free time to attend meetings, engage with businesses, drop off posters, tickets etc all with the intention of promoting Monaghan and its businesses. This draw and other promotions could not be delivered without their great work.
